Fresh Express Spinach and Frozen Food–Safeway Deals 3/21 to 3/27/12

fresh_express_frozen_safeway

My freezer is getting full from the great frozen food deals at Safeway this month.  All together everything in the picture cost $4.48.  My Safeway doubles coupons by subtracting an extra 50 cents from each manufacturer coupon.  Without double coupons the cost would be $4.98.  I did two trips; here are the details:

Trip 1:

DiGiorno Dipping Strips, on sale for $5.00, buy 2

Use $5 frozen catalina coupon and $2.50/2 DiGiorno coupon (both from last week’s shopping)

Final cost: $2.50 for both, plus get $5 frozen catalina and $2.50/2 DiGiorno coupon

Fresh Express Spinach 9 oz, on sale for $1.00

Use $0.75/1 coupon from March Fresh Ideas (still available)

Final cost: $0.25

Trip 2:

Pictsweet Frozen Vegetables, on sale for $1.00, buy 5

Use $5.00 frozen catalina from previous trip

Final cost: $0.00

Tai Pei Frozen Meal, on sale for $1.99

Use double coupon and $0.55/1 coupon from 1/29/12 Smart Source insert

Final cost: $0.94

Klondike Ice Cream, on sale for $2.79 with in-ad coupon

Use $2.00 just-for-you ecoupon (no longer available)

Final cost: $0.79

No $5.00 frozen catalina printed for this trip, even though the pre-coupon total was above $10.  Not sure why, perhaps it had to do with the ecoupon.

Here are some other good deals at Safeway this week.  I will probably go back for the Stouffers myself.  Prices are without double coupons, if your store offers double coupons, your price could be lower.

Update 3/25:  I’ve now done this Stouffers deal twice, and both times the $5.00 catalina did not print.  Luckily, the Stouffers is featured in the weekly ad under the frozen deal.  I went to customer service, showed them the ad and my receipt, and each time they handed me a $5 bill.

A Safeway in my area is reopening after a remodel.  They had a great booklet with Safeway coupons like $2.00 off any O organic product, free dish soap (pic above), and a free loaf of bread from the Safeway bakery.  Grocery store reopenings, at any grocery chain, are great events!
