It was a week to stock up on Activia yogurt at Safeway. All together, everything in the picture above cost $3.40. My Safeway doubles manufacturer coupons by subtracting off an additional 50 cents for each. Double-coupon rules vary by Safeway store. Without double coupons, the total cost would be $4.90. Here are the coupon details:
Open Nature Vanilla Almond Cereal 11 oz., on sale for $1.77
Use $1.00/1 Open Nature Coupon (found at customer service desk or at in-store Open Nature tastings)
Final cost: $0.77
Safeway Select Salsa 24 oz., on clearance rack for $1.49
No coupons needed
Final cost: $1.49
(Most Safeway stores have a rack with clearance items, usually marked 50% off. You can use manufacturer coupons on those items, which can make for decent deals.)
Dannon Activia yogurt 4-pack, on sale for $1.88 (only some varieties on sale)
Use double coupon and $1.00/1 coupon from 1/15/12 Smart Source insert (coupon expires 2/11/12 – this Saturday!)
Final cost: $0.38 per 4-pack
During my check-out, a coupon for this yogurt printed from the catalina machine ($2.00/2 Activia Harvest 4-packs, pictured below).
Here are a couple other decent deals at Safeway (kind of a slow week actually). Prices are without double coupons; if you store offers them, your cost may be lower.
Mission Tortillas, on sale for $1.29 (Fri-Sun only)
No coupon needed
Final cost: $1.29
Red Baron Pizza, on sale for $2.99, buy 2 (Fri-Sun only)
Use $1.00/2 coupon from 1/22 Smart Source insert
Final cost: $2.49 each
O Organic Carrots, 2 lb bag, $1.39
No coupon needed
Final cost: $1.39 (about 70 cents a pound, not bad for organic)
