Safeway Specials: August 1 to 7, 2012

Safeway has a $5 off $15+ frozen item coupon in week’s ad (all frozen included, except meat, seafood, bakery).  That coupon, however, did not scan right on my trip today; it rang up as 1 cent instead of $5.  After I asked, the cashier keyed it in manually.

Make sure to check your receipt; hope it will scan okay for you.  The coupon should work on the cost after club card and just-for-you prices, but before manufacturer coupons.

In the end, everything pictured cost me $4.29.  My Safeway doubles coupons by taking an extra 50 cents off for each manufacturer coupon.  Without doubles, the total cost would be $6.29.  Here are the details:

Alexia Frozen Potatoes, on sale for $3.50, bought 4

Safeway Frozen Corn, on sale for $1.59

Total Frozen Cost Before Coupons: $15.59

$5/$15 Frozen Coupon (back page of ad): –$5.00

Safeway Frozen Veg Coupon (back page of ad): –$0.30

4 Alexia $1.00/1 Coupons: –$4.00  (from a local Alexia promotion)

4 50 cent double coupons: –$2.00

Final cost: $4.29

There are a lot of other interesting combinations for that $5 off $15 frozen coupon, but I hesitate to post them if the coupon isn’t working…
