Safeway Specials: May 2 to 8, 2012

Cream cheese was a great deal this week at Safeway.  Everything in the picture cost $2.46, plus I got a $3.00 catalina coupon off my next purchase.  My store doubles coupons by deducting an extra 50 cents for each manufacturer coupon.  Without double coupons, the total would be $3.46.  Here are the coupon details:

Jolly Time Popcorn, on sale for $1.67

Use double coupon and $0.50/1 coupon from 4/15 Smart Source insert

Final cost: $0.67

Activia Yogurt, on clearance for 50% off $2.39, bought 2

Used $2.00/2 Activia catalina coupon (got when purchasing Activia previously)

Final cost: $0.39 for both

U by Kotex Liners, $1.49 regular price

Use double coupon and $1.00/1 coupon from 3/25 Smart Source insert

Final cost: free

Philadelphia Cream Cheese, 8 oz, on sale for $2.29 and buy-one-get-one-free, bought 4

Had $1.95 just-for-you pricing* and used two $1.25 Philadelphia cream cheese catalina coupons

Final cost: $1.40 for 4, plus got $3.00 catalina coupon** off next purchase

(Without coupons or just-for-you pricing, the cost would be $4.58 for 4, plus get the $3.00 catalina; still a good deal.)

*Just-for-you pricing is new in my area.  They are similar to ecoupons, except you load a specific price for a product to your card.

**Here are the Philadelphia Cream Cheese catalina details:

Valid through 5/6/12 on 8 oz+ or larger tubs

Buy 2, get $1.00 catalina coupon

Buy 3, get $2.00 catalina coupon

Buy 4+ get $3.00 catalina

And just a few other good deals this week at Safeway.  Prices without double coupons; your cost could be less if your store offers double coupons.
